Our journey together began in Heck Park in Monroe, Michigan, a veteran memorial park where they exchanged vows surrounded by open skies and a sense of history. It was the perfect place to begin a marriage built on love, faith, and purpose.
Together, we have been blessed with four children—Charlie, Paul, Gordon, and Isaiah—who bring joy, adventure, and inspiration into our lives each day.
From the start, we shared a passion for trees, landscaping, and organic food. What began as a personal love for nature soon grew into a calling. That calling became GCS Tree and Landscaping, a family business dedicated to helping homeowners transform their properties into living reflections of who they are.
Within the business, Gardens by Crystal came to life—specialized garden designs that go beyond beauty to serve a deeper purpose. Crystal creates gardens that invite life, peace, and sustainability, including pollinator gardens, foodscaping gardens, shade gardens, and now even rain gardens that naturally manage stormwater. Each garden is a unique expression of creativity, care, and environmental stewardship.
Our mission is more than business—it’s rooted in our faith in Jesus Christ. As passionate followers of Christ, we see caring for the earth as an act of stewardship, honoring God’s creation while helping families discover the beauty and nourishment it provides. Our faith shapes the way we serve others—with integrity, humility, and a desire to make a lasting difference.
Gordon also brings to their work the discipline, service, and dedication forged through his time as a 13-year veteran of the United States Army, where he served as a Combat Medic. His commitment to protecting and serving others continues today, now expressed through helping families create safe, healthy, and thriving outdoor spaces.
Beyond our work, we love the outdoors in every season of life. Whether it’s camping, hiking, or simply exploring nature together, we find joy in God’s creation and in making memories as a family.
For us, life is about more than planting trees or designing landscapes—it’s about planting seeds of faith, beauty, and sustainability. Through our family, business, and faith, we are building a legacy that will take root for generations to come.
